The Comparison of Visuomotor Reaction Time on Dynavision Tasks in Well Adults

Abstract
Objective : The purpose of this study was to compare the gender difference and explore the normative data on visuomotor reaction time employing dynavision apparatus. When the dynavision training in the clinical settings is applied, the gender should be considered in referring to the normal performance.

Methods : Subjects were drawn from a group of 62 university students(31 women and 31 men) whose ages ranged between 19 and 27 with an average of 21.48¡¾2.19. The dynavision apparatus was specifically designed to measure and train visual scanning, visual attention, visumotor reactions in focal and ambient visual attention, Two self-paced tasks(60sec, 240sec) were chosen to measure visuomotor reaction time.

Results : The results showed the statistically significant difference between two groups. Men were faster than women on the reaction time(p<0.05).

Conclusion : When the dynavision evaluation and training are applied in the clinical settings the gender should be considered in referring to the normal performance.
